Your sport binder guide: move freely, move safely

Your sport binder guide: move freely, move safely

Feel like moving your body more? Hitting the gym, going for a run or starting a new sport: the right binder makes all the difference. Lots of binders can handle some activity, but our sport binders are made for even more comfort, breathability and freedom of movement. This guide helps you find your fit, with tips to help you move with confidence.

Why sport binders?
You can move and sweat in a regular binder, but a sport chest binder takes it a step further. The fit, finish and function are made for being active. They give you more freedom around your ribs and shoulders or use breathable mesh, and they're shaped to stay stable while you move. Sprinting or stretching, they stay in place and support your body without holding you back.

Our sport binder line-up:

  • The Gym Binder (black or grey)
A popular go-to for everyday movement. Compared to the Short Binder, the Gym Binder is slightly shorter, has narrower shoulder straps and is cut lower on the back, so your ribs have more room to move. All without losing any compression strength.

  • The Athletic Binder (black, limited edition dark blue or fierce leo)
Lightweight, flexible and made for longer sessions or high-energy workouts. This binder is a favourite in lots of queer gyms. Good to know: the cut is less suited to larger chests, and it goes up to size 3XL.

  • The Tank Binder (available in black)

Sporty and breathable, with a tank-style cut for extra range of motion and comfort. Great for workouts or layering. The Tank Binder gives you chest compression with a racerback cut, so your shoulder blades can move freely. It's also popular with people with limited mobility, because it doesn't restrict the shoulders.

What about swimming?
Heading to the pool? Check out our swim binders. They're made for the water: they dry quickly, are chlorine-resistant and use moisture-wicking compression mesh. They're also great out of the pool, especially for workouts where you want to stay dry.

Choose between:

  • Basic Swim Binder: lightweight, quick-drying and sleek under swimwear. Some people find the mesh a bit see-through. If that's you, we recommend adding our Nipple Pads. Available in black and grey. Grey is great in summer under light-coloured tops.

  • Tank Swim Binder: more coverage, supportive and secure for active swimming. Available in black and limited edition navy.

Lots of our customers wear their swim binders for workouts on land and in the water, so they're a pretty versatile addition to your kit.

4 sport tips for binder wearers
Staying active in a binder can feel affirming and powerful. Here's how to keep it safe:

  1. Get up early (or go late)
Move during the cooler hours so you don't overheat. Mornings and evenings are usually the most comfortable times to work out in a binder.

  2. Wear sunscreen
Working out outside? Don't forget SPF on all your exposed skin. Some binders have mesh panels, and UV rays can get through.

  3. Drink more water than you think
Wearing a binder raises your core temperature. Stay hydrated before, during and after your workout. But don't overdo it: drinking too much at once can lead to water poisoning.

  4. Wear the right binder for the right activity
Sport and swim binders are made for movement and breathability. Regular binders give great compression but aren't always the best choice for working out. Pick the one that supports your body and your goals.

Listen to your body
Even in a sport binder, take a break when you need one. Feeling short of breath, overheated or dizzy? Stop and take your binder off. Rest is part of being strong too.
