For many trans men, transmasculine people, and other genderqueer individuals, packers or penis prostheses can play a role in exploring or supporting gender expression and personal comfort. Starting out with packing can feel overwhelming, as there are many shapes, sizes, and materials available. We’ve compiled general information and practical guidance to help you get started.
What is packing?
Packing means wearing a padding or penis prosthesis in your underwear to create the appearance of a bulge. People choose to pack for different reasons, such as experimenting with their appearance or creating a silhouette that feels right to them. Packers are typically used as fillers and are worn for appearance-related purposes.
Most packers are made from soft materials and are designed to be comfortable during everyday wear.
Which packer or penis prosthesis should I choose?
Choosing a packer is a very personal process. It can help to think about how you would like to use it in daily life, such as whether you want a subtle outline or a more defined appearance under clothing.
At UNTAG, we currently offer packers and foam paddings intended for packing as a visual and wearable solution. These items are designed to be worn in underwear or packing garments and are not intended for medical or sexual use.
Below is an overview of the most common packing options available in our assortment. So, let’s dive a little deeper into the different types of packers!
Foam Paddings
One of the most accessible ways to start packing is by using foam padding. Foam paddings are lightweight inserts that can be worn in underwear or packing garments to create a subtle outline. They can be attached using safety pins or worn in underwear with a built-in pouch.
Foam paddings may be completely flat or have a soft anatomical outline. This makes them a low-profile option for people who prefer a lightweight feel and minimal visual effect.
Packers
If you’re looking for a more defined shape under clothing, a packer may be a good option. Packers are typically made of soft silicone or elastomer materials and are shaped to resemble a penis for appearance-related purposes. They are designed to sit comfortably in underwear and help create a natural-looking bulge under clothing.
UNTAG packers are developed with everyday wear in mind. They are lightweight, flexible, and soft to the touch, allowing them to move with the body during daily activities such as walking, sitting, or cycling. The focus is on comfort and ease of wear, making them suitable for extended use throughout the day.
Most packers are not intended for urination or sexual activity unless explicitly stated by the manufacturer. At UNTAG, our packers are offered as wearable fillers that are meant to be worn in packing underwear, pouches, or supportive garments. They are designed to stay in place and maintain their shape without feeling rigid or restrictive.
Packers are available in different sizes, allowing you to choose what best suits your body and personal preference. Some people prefer a very subtle outline, while others opt for a more noticeable shape — both are valid choices. Choosing a packer is a personal decision, and comfort should always be the priority.
Stand-to-Pee packers
A stand-to-pee packer (often referred to as an STP prosthetic) is a type of penis prosthetic that includes a built-in funnel, allowing some wearers to urinate while standing. These prosthetics are worn externally and typically require careful positioning to function comfortably.
Many people find that using an STP prosthetic involves a learning curve, and it’s common to practice in a private setting, such as a shower or bathroom. Designs, fit, and ease of use can vary depending on the product and the individual.

While UNTAG does not currently sell STP packers, we do offer the PEZ Travel Urinal. This is a lightweight, standalone stand-to-pee solution that can be used without a prosthetic and is designed for external use. It can be a practical option for people who want a simple and portable way to urinate while standing.
For hygiene and comfort, always clean stand-to-pee products according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Prosthetic brands
Two well-known brands in the field of penis prosthetics are Banana Prosthetics and Emisil. While these brands are not part of our regular online assortment, we remain familiar with their products and materials.
Banana Prosthetics is a trans-owned Canadian brand, and Emisil is a European brand known for hand-crafted silicone prosthetics.

Safety
Although many people find packing comfortable, there are a few general points to keep in mind:
- Check whether you are sensitive or allergic to the material of the packer or padding.
- If you notice irritation, pressure, or discomfort during wear, remove the item and give your body a break.
- Follow the care and cleaning instructions provided with your specific product.
How to wear your packer
There are several ways to wear a packer, depending on your personal preference and the type of prosthetic you’re using. Many people choose to combine their packer with specific packing accessories to improve comfort, positioning, and stability during wear.
Packing boxershorts
Packing boxershorts are underwear with a built-in pouch that holds the packer securely in place. This keeps the packer positioned without direct skin contact, which some people find more comfortable for daily wear. Packing boxers are designed for soft packers and fillers, and are a practical, all-in-one solution if you prefer minimal adjustment throughout the day.
Packing pouch
A packing pouch is a small fabric pouch that holds your packer and can be attached to most types of underwear or swimwear using secure safety pins. This option offers more flexibility, especially if you already have underwear you like to wear. A packing pouch allows you to position the packer where it feels most natural for you and can be used with a wide variety of garments.
Harness
A harness is another way to wear a packer and is designed to keep it securely in place against the body. Harnesses are commonly used when additional stability is needed or when packing without specialized underwear. Depending on the design, a harness can be worn on its own or combined with regular underwear.

Each method offers a different level of support and adjustability. Choosing the right packing accessory depends on your comfort, clothing choices, and how you plan to wear your packer throughout the day.
Cleaning your packer
Most packers and foam paddings can be cleaned using lukewarm water and a mild soap. After rinsing, let the item air dry on a towel. Avoid heat sources such as direct sunlight or dryers, as these can affect the material.
For hygiene and comfort, we recommend cleaning your packer after regular wear, especially if it has been worn close to the skin for extended periods. Always follow the specific care instructions provided with your product.
