Your new breast prostheses just came in! To help you get started, we’ve gathered practical information and usage guidelines so you can wear your prostheses with care.
Breast prosthesis shape: oval or triangle?
To determine which prosthesis shape suits your body best, consider the width of your rib cage. Triangle-shaped breast prostheses are generally more suitable for people with a wider chest or rib cage. For a smaller chest or rib cage, oval-shaped breast prostheses are often a better fit. Watch the video below for a visual explanation:
Instructions for tops:
Place the breast prostheses in the pockets of the top you want to wear them with. Make sure the top of the prostheses points upwards. With oval prostheses, the pointed side is the top side; with triangle prostheses, the narrowest side is the top side.
Put the top on and adjust the prostheses into position as needed. Watch the video below for a visual explanation of wearing prostheses with a top:
Instructions for swimsuits:
Place the breast prostheses in the pockets of the swimsuit you want to wear them with. Make sure the top of the prostheses points upwards. With oval prostheses, the pointed side is the top side; with triangle prostheses, the narrowest side is the top side.

Use
You can wear your breast prostheses for extended periods, as long as you are not allergic to the material and they remain comfortable during wear. Silicone breast prostheses are suitable for use in salt water and chlorinated water, but frequent or prolonged exposure to water may affect the material over time.
Be careful with sharp nails or objects. Silicone breast prostheses can leak if the surface is damaged.
Clean
Wash the prostheses with lukewarm water and mild soap. Lay them on a towel to air dry. For hygiene reasons, we recommend cleaning the prostheses after each use.
Storage
Store the prostheses in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight. Do not store them in contact with other silicone prostheses, and avoid placing prostheses on top of each other during storage.
